05/19/2000 1.0.0.1 first version - just the universe selection thanks to Mauz, her web pages helped a lot 05/23/2000 1.0.0.2 + dialog driven path setup + dialog driven editing of universe data 05/26/2000 1.0.0.3 + optional update of changed user data + optional positioning onto the last active universe + delete and move-to-top buttons + automated safety copy of AWorld.INI 05/31/2000 1.0.0.4 + corrected a major bug in the 1.0.0.1-history, I apologize for that + added known problems section below + lock Start button if AWorld is already started + AWorld.INI-path is adjusted to AWorld.EXE-path during paths setup + new 'Info' box + contact list problem (see below) solved by making backup copies (Cnt###.txt in AwStart's directory). 06/12/2000 1.0.0.5 + removed COOLBlab - it's a private world for children please do not use this port anymore 06/14/2000 1.0.0.6 + corrected an incompatibility with - don't know - but someone got a protection fault when starting 3.0beta unter Win98 06/07/2000 1.0.0.7 + got a much better icon, thanx to Phytagoras1 :) 08/06/2000 1.0.0.7 + added Fandom to the universe list 08/12/2000 1.0.0.7 + added UltraWorld, BlurCity, Karlskrona2, Wolfsburg2 and VWorld to the universe list 10/01/2000 1.0.0.8 + internal change, starting proc of AWorld.exe. Sometimes AwStart blocked the start of other programs tat use sockets - I did not find out why so this is just a try 10/20/2000 + added several new universes and galaxies I found, some seem to be mostly down or experimental 10/21/2000 1.0.0.9 + Universe and user data are splitted into two separate INI files, the new one is AwStart.cfg. That should make updates easier 10/24/2000 1.0.0.10 + Edit Universe had a bug and read its data from the wrong INI file, corrected 11/11/2000 1.0.0.11 + new method to start AWorld (sigh), I hope that will end that blocking of other socket apps that AWorld sometimes does when it is started by AwStart 11/19/2000 1.0.1.0 + Saving the contact list moved from the end to the start of AwStart so I can stop AwStart as soon as AW is running. That should solve the "blocking" problem 02/25/2001 1.0.1.1 + Fixed a potential problem with space in the path name of the ActiveWorlds installation ============================================================ Known problems / unwanted features ;) AWorld removes contacts from the contact list, if their user numbers do not exist in the current universe. That's not a bug in AWorld but AwStart should handle that - I'm thinking about it. - solved in version 1.0.0.4 Using AwStart sometimes blocks other socket based programs that are started after AWorld is started - although AwStart does not use ressources - solved in version 1.0.1.0 (hopefully) ============================================================ Hint : You can check wich version you've currently installed by doing a right-click to the executable 'AwStart.exe', selecting 'Properties'. Look at the 'Version'-Tab in the properties.
