The default settings of the MS Windows explorer are 100% wrong, they hide
files and file types from users. This makes troubleshooting hard and
changing some settings impossible.
Please correct these settings if you do not find your INI files or can not
check whether DLL files are installed or missing. To change them, open your
windows explorer and choose the following menu entry :
You will see a dialog box. In this dialog box check/uncheck all checkboxes
and radio buttons as shown to get all available information that the
explorer can give you.
Doing this cannot damage your system, it just reveals informations that
MicroSoft does not want you to see.
Some brain damaged idiots decided to make it even more thrilling in newer
windows versions, some require to explicit make all folders like current.
So if you have such a weird piece of pseudo OS you need to click the button
"Like current folder", else it helps only in one location.
Unfortunately I had no success when I tried to get better english screenshots
but I hope you will find the settings if I show the german ones.
